Dr. Sarah Hough
Owner and Lead Evaluator
Dr. Sarah Hough is the owner and lead evaluation researcher at Hough et al. and has been working alongside innovative educational programs, such as yours, since 1998. Sarah can support your external evaluation needs from the proposal phase through completion to help you utilize data driven ways to fund, implement and demonstrate your project outcomes and most importantly, capture the mechanisms by which the outcomes are reached.
In her 26 years of professional experience, Sarah has evaluated projects funded by a number of renowned organizations and foundations and conducted across a variety of university campuses. These include the U.S. Department of Education, the National Science Foundation, the Educational Advancement Foundation; housed at institutions such as the University of California Santa Barbara, Purdue University, Cal Poly Pomona, San Francisco State and Fresno State.
Sarah has B.S/M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In her subsequent work there as a project scientist she conducted evaluation research studies across multiple disciplines and with diverse faculty teams.
Working as an adjunct professor at several online graduate schools gave Sarah opportunities to develop content knowledge across multiple educational domains as well as guide PhD/EdD level studies that utilized a variety of research methods and frameworks.
Miranda Pattison
Data Analyst
Miranda has been working as a data analyst at Hough et al. for the past two years. She has experience working with qualitative data including case study data preparation, thematic analysis and constant comparative analysis. She is also experienced using Excel for descriptive and SPSS for inferential statistical analyses. Miranda is currently a student at Cal State Long Beach studying psychology.
